St. Croix Hospice has been a godsend. The staff gave my sister palliative care that exceeded anything I could have hoped for.A nurse came out twice a week to visit my sister and check on her vitals and other health issues. An aide was assigned to my sister, who gave far better care to her twice a week than any aides at the nursing home. A chaplain came by once a week to visit and give spiritual support not only to my sister but also to me. Often, the chaplain and I conversed on the phone, and I found our conversation to be quite comforting. The coordinator who helped set up the initial intake for my sister was available by phone whenever I felt a need to consult him about changes in my sister's health or other concerns I had along the way about the process she was going through. With constant support from St. Croix Hospice, over the course of a year, my sister transitioned from a near comatose state to regaining awareness of her surroundings and eventually functioning well enough to "graduate" out of hospice.I can't say enough good things about St. Croix. They are a marvelous organization staffed with caring and kind employees. They can be reached 24/7 and have helped my sister and me navigate the uncertainties of life. I recommend them wholeheartedly and thank them from the bottom of my heart for all they have done for my sister and me.
My experience could not have been farther from some of the negative reviews I read. The representatives from St. Croix were wonderful with my family from start to finish. We were visited by a nurse every day and each time they were generous with their time, made sure my father was comfortable, and demonstrated knowledge and compassion. They helped my family identify when my father’s passing was imminent so that we didn’t miss the chance to have a final goodbye. They were kind and caring and helped us find beauty and comfort in what is other wise a difficult time. I would recommend St Croix hospice without hesitation.
