Our mother was dead set against anyone being in her home, thinking they were going to take care of her, because she was just fine. Then Amber was assigned as her nurse and she brought her infectious smile and positive attitude and won Mom over. She visited Mom regularly each week and gave us feedback on Mom’s condition. Without Amber to ask questions and voice concerns to, I really do not think I would have been able to contend with all that was going on with Mom. Amber was very patient and understanding especially when I indicated my frustration with situations I brought to her attention. Dealing with family members cannot be an easy situation. Her attitude and humor brought a momentary break to the every day humdrum that Mom was living.Andrea was also instrumental in watching out for Mom and keeping me sane during this time. She frequently checked in to see how Mom was doing but also to see how I was doing. She listened and supported and was there for my family if we needed her. Never pushy, but giving suggestions if she felt they were wanted. She has been an angel through the midst of a very hard time. Each one of them brought something different yet wonderful into our home to help Mom and our family. Made us feel comfortable, reassuring that we were doing a great job and making sure that Mom was taking care of. We are so grateful for St. Croix and these wonderful women who made it possible for me to keep my promise that Mom would be at home when it was her time. She went peacefully at home and there is nothing more I could have asked for.My family would like to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude for the care your staff gave to Mom during her time at home in hospice care. You both made my mom’s last days at home brighter and comfortable up until her passing. For that we are grateful and appreciative. God bless.Vickie Stonehocker
